It’s so easy to make and fills you up for a big day of playing outside. The school was canceled due to weather yesterday so I thought I would surprise them with this hearty breakfast. Continue cooking until the chicken is fully cooked and crumbled. Add the spices about halfway through cooking, stirring until the chicken is evenly coated. Add the ground chicken to the skillet, using a spatula to finely crumble. Stir it to break up the meat and cook until browned, about 7-10 minutes. As the gravy simmers continue to whisk until thickened. Mix the spices for the breakfast sausage together in a small bowl while you heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sausage in a large skillet over medium heat. My kids have never had it and I recently found a tube of sausage in my freezer that needed to be used up. Season your gravy mixture with salt and plenty of black pepper, whisk to combine, and allow it to simmer. I rarely ever let myself indulge in biscuits and gravy for obvious reasons but they are one of my favorite breakfast foods.
